Basement Floors with a Finished, Luxurious Feel
An epoxy basement floor is bright, seamless and easy to clean, with no grout lines or carpet to trap moisture and odours. It suits gyms, playrooms, laundry and storage areas, workshops and finished living spaces, and it can be solid, flake or a striking metallic.
Basements bring one extra challenge: moisture. Concrete slabs on grade can push water vapour up through the floor, and a coating applied over a damp slab can blister or lift. We test for moisture before quoting the system, and where it is elevated we recommend a moisture-mitigating primer or tell you honestly that another option is better.
As with every floor we install, the slab is diamond-ground and repaired first, so the coating bonds to sound concrete.

Questions
Basement Epoxy Flooring: FAQs
Is epoxy good for basements?+
Yes, on a slab that is sound and has acceptable moisture levels. It is seamless, easy to clean and does not trap moisture the way carpet can. We test before quoting so the system matches your slab.
What if my basement has moisture?+
Some moisture vapour is common. Elevated readings can often be handled with a moisture-mitigating primer. Active leaks or flooding need to be fixed first; a coating is not waterproofing.
Will an epoxy basement floor feel cold?+
It feels like any hard floor. Many people add area rugs in living spaces. If you have or plan in-floor heating, tell us so we can plan the system around it.
Is there a strong smell during installation?+
Some products have an odour while curing. We discuss low-odour options and ventilation with you before the install, especially if the home will be occupied.
Often paired with metallic epoxy floors, concrete staining and epoxy flake floors.
