Concrete Grinding & Coating Removal

Before a new floor can go down, the old one often has to come off. Peeling epoxy, paint, DIY garage kits, carpet and tile glue, thinset and mastic all prevent a new coating from bonding. We remove them with heavy diamond grinders and, where needed, scrapers, leaving clean, open concrete ready for the next finish.

Grinding also flattens high spots and lips at joints, removes the weak top layer of the slab, and creates the surface profile that epoxy and polyaspartic coatings need to bond mechanically. It is the single most important step in a lasting coating, and the one most often skipped.

We use dust-controlled equipment with industrial vacuums to keep dust down in occupied homes and businesses.

Can you remove a peeling DIY garage coating?+

Yes. Failed DIY kits are one of the most common things we grind off. Once the old coating is removed and the slab is properly profiled, a professional system can be installed in its place.

Is grinding dusty?+

We use dust-controlled grinders connected to industrial vacuums, which capture most of the dust at the source. There is some noise, so we schedule around occupied spaces.

Why not just acid-etch the floor?+

Acid etching does not remove contaminants, sealers or old coatings, and it leaves an inconsistent surface. Diamond grinding gives a clean, even profile the coating can grip, which is why we use it for every coating job.

Often paired with concrete crack and spall repair, polished concrete and warehouse and industrial epoxy.
